On Saturday, August 17th, the Arts Gallery of "A Filantrópica" in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, became a vibrant crossroads where various forms of art converged, creating a memorable cultural event. Supported by esteemed international movements like UMEA (World Union of Writers and Artists), CIESART (International Chamber of Writers and Artists), WPM (World Poetry Movement), and the Modern Pythian Games, this gathering showcased the powerful synergy between visual and literary arts.
The event was a celebration of the arts in their many forms - painting, sculpture, poetry, and song - where stories were narrated through verses and melodies. For about two hours, more than twenty poets took the stage, offering heartfelt tributes to the talented painters and sculptors whose works adorned the gallery walls. The central theme of the exhibition was the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Póvoa de Varzim, a city rich in culture and history. The afternoon was further enlivened by music that evoked the spirit of the celebrated milestone, adding an auditory dimension to the visual and literary festivities.
The exhibition featured nineteen paintings and three sculptures, each a source of inspiration for the poets who had traveled from various regions of northern Portugal to participate.
